| Mozilla has released a first beta of Firefox 4, which comes loaded with lots of fresh features and a distinctive new look.
In January the open source browser maker nixed Firefox 3.7 and jumped instead to Firefox 4 in a move to reflect the number of changes it was making to the popular surfing tool. |

| Perhaps inconceivable just a few short years ago, it now seems inevitable that Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser won't hold onto its market share lead forever, and could fall to Firefox within the next 24 months or so. We say this because IE has been trending backwards in market share numbers, at least up until now. |

| While Firefox 3.7 will bring with it some really cool hardware acceleration features, the next big, big build will be Firefox 4.0. Right now the designers are debating whether to keep the tabs on the bottom of the address bar, like it's done for Internet Explorer and Safari, or move tabs on top of the address bar, like Chrome and Opera do it. |
